TONY CHOI

A day in the life of Tony Choi looks like me waking up 10 minutes before class. I put on my sweatpants and I’m already late to class (sorry). I’ve taken some great Haas classes. I really enjoy UGBA 100 with Krystal Thomas. I also enjoyed UGBA 131 last semester with Stephen Etter. I then make my way to orchestra. I love music. It’s something I do for fun. I love playing the violin in my free time. I have been playing the violin for 15 years. It’s way for me to express myself and relieve stress. I will be playing Sibelius on Thursday, May 3rd at 5PM if anybody wants to come watch.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about being the best I can be. I am going to live for myself. I want to be a role model for minorities. I want people to know they can succeed no matter what they look like and no matter where they grew up.

Coming into Berkeley from a smaller high school, I felt a little lost because there was just so much going on. Berkeley is after all a large school with a lot of students. But, I really feel like I felt a tight-knit community in Haas. Once you’re at Haas you take classes with a lot of the same people so it’s easier to build relationships and friendships. I have the chance to get to know my Professors, and ask them for advice. Haas provides a lot of resources such as resume critique or mock interviews. The alumni network is really well-connected and knowledgeable. Haas has given me a lot.

I also love coming to Chou Hall. I love playing with the small microphones. They are so cute!!
